An employer who genuinely cares, is that you?

Over the next 10 years in Australia we will continually see a shift towards a more holistic workplace. Various studies have revealed that along with fair renumeration, working for an employer that genuinely cares about an employee’s wellbeing will be the number one priority for job seekers.

Is your business ready?

We facilitate healthy workplaces

We’re Careers West, a boutique West Australian team providing psychosocial coaching and occupational health services that support businesses of all sizes in keeping their employees happy and healthy.

For the past 10 years, we’ve been helping WA organisations achieve happier workplaces and build a better employee culture.

We do this by offering psychosocial coaching, psychometric assessing, outplacement services, workshops, training and occupational medicine services.

It is now as important for employers to look after their employees’ mental health as well as physical health. We partner with businesses to help them meet their work health and safety obligations.

Psychosocial issues are harder to identify and manage. Our unique approach is to offer coaching instead of counselling or psychology. Our aim is to help untangle tricky or sensitive situations to allow your teams to get back to working well again.

Psychosocial support services

Careers West was founded in 2013 by our principal, Danielle, initially as an outplacement and workplace coaching business. Since then she has assisted many workers affected by redundancy and those needing leadership or performance coaching.

Service offers grew to provide more targeted solutions to help businesses untangle difficult employee situations. Things like an employee going on stress leave, performance issues, clashes between other workers and so on.

Danielle’s ability to quickly get to the root cause of conflict has helped businesses manage their psychosocial risk, and by engaging coaching services, the employer shows genuine care. Her lens is through coaching which is future focused. It empowers the person being coached to own their situation and find their way forward. The coach facilitates the process and the future focused approach minimises blame and rumination.

Prior to Careers West, Danielle held management roles with famous brands, including Starbucks Coffee, Smiggle and AFS Intercultural Programs. She helped roll out a significant organisational change project and grow the Australian markets. Danielle gained invaluable experience and knowledge in onboarding, leading, and managing teams. It was this experience working with managing people, supporting their needs, and helping them do their best work that helped her build skills, and an intimate understanding, in the realm of psychosocial coaching.

Danielle leads Careers West in supporting businesses manage their psychosocial risks through coaching, training, outplacement, and assessment services.

Occupational Medicine

In 2020, Careers West added Occupational Medicine services to our line-up, which we now offer directly through our Occupational Medicine Consultant, Dr Miguel Kabilio.

With over 30 years of Occupational Medicine experience in both Argentina and Australia, Miguel has provided services to various businesses and industries across the world, with a key focus in the oil and gas, mining, agricultural, and postal industries.

Providing Occupational Medicine Consultancy allows us to provide an expert perspective on the health and safety of your workers, which enables you to meet their health and safety requirements. And not just in advising on next steps: our comprehensive service allows us to support you at both the beginning and the end of the employee pipeline.

We start by identifying the issues that may be impacting your people, and providing a referring on where to get the best support—whether medical, physical, or mental. Then, if we identify that workplace coaching will be of most benefit to you and your teams, you will be referred to Danielle, who provides in-depth psychosocial coaching services to help your employees manage their own needs, and work towards doing their best work.

About us

Danielle and Miguel are a unique combination in both their personal and professional lives—and it’s a pairing that works.

Married in 2017, they tied the knot again in 2020, this time merging their professional fields to make Careers West one holistic service provider.

Coming from two different, yet complimentary, fields, they realised that Careers West could provide value to businesses in helping them solve problems at both ends of their employee funnel.

Miguel manages the Occupational Medicine component of Careers West, ensuring your workers are physically and mentally fit for the role. Danielle assists businesses with psychosocial issues through the coaching and workshop facilitation, helping you and your teams improve their capabilities and culture.

This uncommon combination of skills and personality traits creates our unique business blueprint, allowing us to offer bespoke solutions for your physical, psychosocial risks and incidents.

We discuss your matters with a fresh honesty, openness, and authenticity, creating a safe space for you and your employees to get to the bottom of what’s holding you back—and then identifying and supporting you in managing your way forward.

Our goal is to help you create happy and healthy workplaces.
